Position: Business Engagement OfficerIndigenous Identified (Remote)

As a Business Engagement Officer at First People, you will play a pivotal role in building strong connections with employers across various industries. Your dynamic and sales-driven approach will be instrumental in encouraging businesses to join our talent network, promoting diversity and recognising the immense value that First Nations people bring to the workforce. As the position is commission-based, this opportunity could be the ideal gateway to start or build a side business to generate an additional income stream.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Outreach: Initiate contact with potential employers, introduce them to the First People platform, and demonstrate the benefits of connecting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent.
  • Virtual and In-person Meetings: Conduct engaging and persuasive virtual and in-person meetings with employers to highlight the advantages of signing up with First People.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate meaningful relationships with key decision-makers within organisations to understand their hiring needs and showcase how our talent network can meet those requirements effectively.
  • Deal Closing: Utilise your exceptional sales skills to close deals and secure employer sign-ups, contributing significantly to the growth and impact of First People.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with internal teams to identify and engage potential partners to expand the network’s reach and increase employer participation.
  • Feedback Gathering: Actively seek feedback from employers to improve our platform and services continually, ensuring an optimal experience for both employers and talent.

Salary:

This opportunity is a commission-based role with untapped earning potential. Our pricing is broken down into subscription packages that are recurring resulting in passive income for our Business Engagement Officers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a sales or business development role, with a track record of achieving targets and closing deals.
  • A deep understanding of First Nations cultures, histories, and social issues, as well as a passion for promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with virtual communication tools for remote meetings and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
